Our Epistle today is Eph 3: 13-19. It starts:
So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
He says I bow my knees before the Father // (Greek is Pater), from who every family // (Greek is patria) in heaven and on earth is named. The Greek Patria (Family) is derived from the Greek word Pater or father. So literally and figuratively, every family name can find it’s root in the Glory and love of the Father.
