On All Saints Day we look at the definition of a Saint. Too often we rank ourselves, others, and the mother Teresa’s of the world, in some moral hierarchy based on our good works. I don’t find this helpful or aligned with the teachings of scripture.
We are looking at the very well known Scripture today referred to as the Beatitudes. But a major question remains when we read them: How are we to live in response to them? Are they an action plan to becoming a Saint, or living a Godly life, or something completely different? What is the real meaning of the Beatitudes?
