A Very Important Announcement
We want to let you know about a big change happening at Mariners’ Church. Instead of me telling you, I’d like our Administrator, Charlotte McKenzie, to say it in her own words:
Isaiah 32: 17-18:
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
Charlotte’s Moving to Charlotte!
Yes, my opening statement is correct, I will be moving to Charlotte,North Carolina in November. It is a bittersweet and exciting time as I embark on this new journey in my life.
The scripture reference above from Isaiah has given me much comfort in knowing that God is with me each step of the way. I pray it daily and ask that you join me in praying for the “peace that only God can give” as I journey to my next “habitation.”
I can’t help but reflect back on this part of my life’s journey that began in February 2014 at Mariners’ Church. I will never forget the moment that Father Bill whispered to me, as we sat in a meeting at my previous job, that he had something that he wanted to “talk to me about.” Never could I have imagined that my life would be forever changed as he invited me to join him in serving our Lord and Saviour at Mariners’ Church.
Please know that each of you has touched my life in so many special ways. Through the encouragement, the laughter, and the tears, you all have helped me to grow in my faith and profession. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for exhibiting the love towards me that Christ has for His Church.
I will be joining my daughter and sister and her family who have lived in Charlotte since 2019. They have been praying for me to come since they moved (smile). I am not retiring but certainly do plan to ease up “a little bit.”
The Trustees and Rev. Todd are hard at work preparing to welcome the ideal candidate to join this team of amazing people. Also pray for Kelly as she takes on a larger role and helps prepare for the transition. All things work together for the good of them who love the Lord!
Our goodbyes will come later but FYI…I do expect each of you to visit me in Charlotte!
With ALL my love,
Charlotte
