The Outreach Committee is excited to once again be hosting our Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 19th from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Julia Anderson Room. Historically, Shrove Tuesday, the day before the beginning of Lent, was a day of penitence to “clean the soul,” as well as a day to use up all the foods in the house that observant Christians would not be eating. In England, pancakes became synonymous with Shrove Tuesday because it was a perfect way to use up all the eggs and butter in the house. Please join us for this fun and delicious tradition as we look forward to the beginning of Lent.
