Real Presence
This Sunday, November 17, we are excited to welcome the Most Rev. Ray R. Sutton as our Celebrant and Preacher during our 8:30 and 11 a.m. services. Bishop Sutton will also be administering the Sacrament of Holy Confirmation during the 11 a.m. service. Bishop Sutton is the Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church, and the Ordinary of the Diocese of Mid-America, in addition to being Dean of the Province for the Anglican Church in North America, and a highly respected leader in North American Anglicanism.
We hope everyone will join us for these services! (For directions and parking info, go to visitmariners.org)
In light of the upcoming visit, and to cover a very important topic of our Anglican worship, we invite you to check out the above video about the real presence of Christ in the elements at Holy Communion. This is an important and historic belief that is central to our worship. What exactly did Jesus mean when he said, “This is my body,” and “This is my blood”? The video above will clear things up.
