Alligator Award Luncheon - Join us on Saturday, February 7 at 12:00pm at Andiamo Detroit Riverfront in the Renaissance Center on the first floor. The Alligator Luncheon was started in the 1970s when a person mistakenly said “alligator” instead of “allegory” at a Sunday service. The winner of the award is said to have made the biggest faux pas during our sacred services. It is a playful way we remember to not take ourselves too seriously. Over the years the winner has included clergy, lay readers, and ushers. All is in good fun and fellowship. Everyone is invited.
The cost of the lunch is $40, payable to “Mariners’ Church" (please put ‘Alligator Lunch' in the memo). Validated parking for the restaurant is in the Beaubien Garage on the east side of the Renaissance Center with entrance off of Jefferson & Beaubien Avenues, closer to Atwater.
Since we need to have a count by January 30, please email or call the church office, (313) 259-2206, or Rev. Todd if you would like to attend. There is also a sign-up sheet in the Julia Anderson Room, near the clock.
Hope to see you there!
