Welcome!

Welcome to the new website of Mariners' Church of Detroit. We're glad you are visiting us via the web, and we invite you to visit us in person this Sunday as well.

A message from our Rector --

Welcome, One and All

We at Mariners’ Church of Detroit invite you to visit and partake of our historic Christ-centered worship. Here you can expect to encounter the living God and grow spiritually week in and week out. You can also expect to be warmly welcomed with love, and learn how you can make a difference for Christ in this community.

We are a vibrant, loving church with a long and treasured past. Here we do not apologize for the word “tradition.” Rather, we rejoice in our fidelity to the Faith—by God’s grace, and we strive to humbly maintain the best practices of the ancient church with our biblical liturgy and teaching, and majestic music as well.

While we’re located in Downtown Detroit, our historic home, Mariners’ draws parishioners from across Metro Detroit, with several coming from over 50 miles away. Our beautiful building is indeed “a house of prayer for all people,” where we come to love and worship God, for spiritual growth, and for the joy of lasting relationships.

Mariners’ has been designated a national historical site with its 160 year-old building, and property dating back to the founding of Fort Detroit itself. The city’s and church’s history are intertwined in many fascinating ways. The building has magnificent stained glass that declares the stories of Scripture and, additionally, part of the history of Detroit. Our new (4100 pipes) organ with two accomplished organists and professional choir ring forth glorious music every Sunday.

Whether your voyage in life brings you to our city for a short visit or whether you seek a permanent spiritual home, Mariners’ Church is your port o’ call in fellowship and worship.

Come, let us adore Him!
Fr. Richard W. Ingalls, Jr.
